The World Peoples’ Summit on Climate Change

In honour of Earth Day lets highlight the most important event that’s happening in the world right now (but because of the horrible media, we have it being totally left out of discussion), The World Peoples’ Summit on Climate Change. Real people from around the world, coming to discuss real actions for the environment. Copenhagen as we all know ended undemocratically with a handful of countries (who are in fact the people responsible for the majority of the environmental devastations) signing some bullshit agreement that does barely anything and we all know they won’t even stick to those low targets.

This summit is so important because it focuses on the rights of people over the right to make a large profit. I love picking up trash and bringing my reusable bag. Small actions are what inspire us to strive to become a better person, but the media, government and corporations use these as a deterrent to the real destructive force of nature, which is this universal mantra of profit over people. Profit over the health of our planet. We need to start giving life more weight than war or gold.
